Berkeley Law’s LL.M. students join us from around the globe, from every walk of life, and from nearly every area of legal practice. Our office, staffed by a dedicated team of attorney-advisors, takes a holistic and individualized approach to student advising. There is no single way to pursue your degree or your career, and we provide the resources and coaching to help you meet your goals.
LL.M. advisors are available for individual appointments with current students. We advise on academics, targeted career planning, professional development, job application material preparation, and more. Appointments can be booked through your LL.M. Advising bCourses page.

Our Advisors
Rachel Zuraw
RACHEL ZURAW, Senior Director of LL.M. Career & Academic Advising, practiced as a litigator in the Bay Area. She started her litigation career at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where she was a member of both the Class Action practice group and the Intellectual Property & Technology practice group. She subsequently joined the Health Care Litigation team at Hanson Bridgett LLP. Prior to entering private practice, Rachel taught at Drexel University School of Law and the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Princeton University and her law degree and master’s in bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Tammy Dawson
TAMMY DAWSON, Associate Director of LL.M. Career & Academic Advising, Tammy practiced law for over a decade with government and nonprofits, including teaching at a clinical program at Santa Clara School of Law. Gravitating toward opportunities to help colleagues grow and thrive in their work, she completed a coaching certificate at San Francisco State in a program rooted in positive psychology research and operated her own coaching practice before joining Fenwick & West LLP as the Director of Professional Development. Since 2016, Tammy has worked in Bay Area law schools, coaching J.D. and LL.M. students, providing academic and career advice, and creating instructional content and workshops on job search and other professional development skills. Tammy has a Bachelor’s degree in American history from Barnard College, Columbia University and received her law degree from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
Rosina Zapparoni
ROSINA ZAPPARONI, Associate Director of LL.M. Career & Academic Advising, is a Berkeley Law LL.M. alum and is available to advise on academics, professional development and bar exam questions. Admitted to practice in California and Victoria, Australia, Rosinabegan her career at one of the largest commercial law firms in Australia.She has also worked as a writer for a Berkeley legal publisher and a lecturer in legal research and writing. Joining Berkeley Law as a lecturer in 2018,Rosinahas worked directly with Berkeley’s LL.M students, teaching LRW in the LL.M traditional track, and providing support and conducting skills sessions for executive track Intellectual Property students.Rosinahas lived in the Bay Area for close to two decades. She is a graduate of Melbourne Law School, where she is honored as the highest ranked female graduate of her law school class. She also holds a bachelor’s degree with first class honors in English from the University of Melbourne.
Alexis Kelly
ALEXIS KELLY, Associate Director of LL.M. Career & Academic Advising, began her legal career as a deputy public defender in Contra Costa County. She subsequently worked on a research and policy project for the American Bar Association’s National inventory of Collateral Consequences of Conviction. She also worked as a staff attorney for the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, a nonprofit providing free legal services to victims of domestic violence. Alexis has been a free-lance writer on criminal law legal topics for Nolo for several years. She earned her undergraduate degree from New York University in French and Anthropology, and her law degree from Berkeley Law.

Berkeley Law does not provide job placement services to LL.M. students. Rather, the LL.M.-dedicated professional development advisors create workshops and provide counseling designed to assist in our students’ professional development and career advancement internationally.
