What if I told you that you could make homemade ranch seasoning mix in 5 minutes using only 5 ingredients? Would you believe me? Yes, you can make this delicious ranch seasoning recipe in no time flat. Once you find out how to make ranch seasoning at home, you are never going to want to buy store bought again. It is that good!

You don’t have to give up your favorite foods when you eat paleo, as some believe. I was determined to make a dairy-free ranch dressing mix that my entire family would love.

This paleo ranch dressing is a winner all around! You can whip up a batch in no time, and it goes with tons of other recipes.

How To Make Ranch Seasoning Mix

Are you ready to learn how to make ranch seasoning that is guilt-free and just plain good? There is seriously nothing to it, and you probably have all the ingredients in your pantry.

All you do is mix these spices in a glass jar:

  • Dried parsley
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Dried dill
  • Dried chives
  • Black pepper
  • Himalayan salt

Once you have made the homemade ranch seasoning mix, you are ready to make paleo ranch dressing.

For one batch of dairy-free ranch dressing, you will need all of the ranch mix. In a glass bowl or jar, simply mix your DIY ranch seasoning mix, avocado oil mayonnaise, and a little water to thin it out.

PRO TIP: Add water very slowly, or you will thin it out too much. You don’t need to go on the roller coaster ride of thinning it too much and then trying to thicken it! Save your own sanity here. Add water slowly and then you can always add more as needed.

What Makes This Ranch Seasoning Recipe Better Than Store Bought?

There are many reasons why this ranch seasoning recipe is better than store bought:

  • It tastes better! Seriously.
  • Making your own ranch dressing much cheaper than what you can buy in the supermarket.
  • This homemade ranch seasoning recipe isn’t loaded with sugar, preservatives, or anything artificial.
  • Dairy-free ranch dressing is super versatile. If you don’t have enough of one seasoning, you can always replace it with something else. It’ll be a little different, but still probably good!

What Goes With Paleo Ranch Dressing?

The options are endless on what goes with this paleo ranch dressing. Here are a few ideas to get you started and inspired:

  • Fresh Vegetables – Ranch dressing is practically famous for being a dip that pairs beautifully with veggies.
  • Cooked Broccoli – Sprinkle a little dairy-free ranch dressing mix on the broccoli before or after cooking for a flavorful spin!
  • French Fries – You can either sprinkle some dry ranch mix on the fries before cooking them or serve paleo ranch dressing for dipping. Either way, it tastes fantastic! I love it with sweet potato fries or yuca fries.
  • Chicken – Add homemade ranch mix on top of the chicken before baking, roasting or putting in the Crock Pot. Ranch and chicken are the perfect marriage of flavors. You can also use it to make crack chicken.
  • Salad – Ranch dressing and salad will always go hand and hand! Your salad is going to taste even more amazing with this homemade ranch dressing.

Can I Make Paleo Ranch Dressing Spicy?

Yes, you can make paleo ranch dressing spicy. If you love to add some heat to your recipes and like a spicy ranch, you can easily adjust this homemade ranch recipe. Add a little bit of cayenne pepper to the ranch mix.

TIP: I recommend starting with 1/4 teaspoon cayenne and testing it from there. You can always add a bit more if you’d like.

If you are making paleo ranch dressing, you can also add a little bit of hot sauce to the dressing. Taste it and keep adding until you have reached the flavor you are looking for.

How Do You Store Dairy Free Ranch Dressing Mix?

You can store dairy free ranch dressing mix by placing it in a glass jar with a lid. You can also use an airtight glass shaker with a lid that closes.

Keep the ranch dressing mix in your cabinet or pantry for up to a year. The most important thing is to keep the ranch mix away from heat or humid areas.

If you have made the homemade ranch seasoning mix into dressing, store it in the refrigerator.

TIP: Dressing made from the homemade ranch mix will last at least a few weeks in the fridge.

Can I Freeze This Ranch Seasoning Recipe?

Yes, you can freeze this ranch seasoning recipe as long as you haven’t made it into dressing yet. If you live in a humid place or there is a chance the ranch seasoning mix will be exposed to moisture, put in the freezer to protect it.

However, usually that isn’t necessary because dried herbs store just fine in the pantry.

I don’t recommend freezing paleo ranch dressing once you have added the avocado mayonnaise and lemon. The texture will be ruined.

What To Serve With Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix
