My #WCW today is a Florida congressional hopeful and absolutely lovely young woman, Whitney Fox! Fox, a beacon of hope for Florida's 13th district, epitomizes resilience and determination as she embarks on her journey to Congress. A devoted mother of two young girls and the proud daughter of a single mother, Whitney intimately understands the struggles facing Florida families firsthand. With a background in strategic communications and public policy, her commitment to improving lives is not just rhetoric—it's her life's work. Formerly serving as the Communications Director for the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, Whitney's impact was tangible, notably spearheading the successful SunRunner Bus Rapid Transit line in St. Petersburg. Now, she's leveraging her expertise and passion to champion real change on a larger scale. Whitney's tirelessly addressing pressing issues like transportation, healthcare access for the elderly, and food insecurity, all while fiercely defending fundamental freedoms, including a woman's right to make her own healthcare decisions. Her momentum is undeniable, having outraised opponents and earned endorsem*nts from influential figures like U.S. Reps. Kathy Castor and Lois Frankel. Though we are not in her district, Howard and I have enjoyed getting to know her and are rooting for her! You can read more about her campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eTRvqSMj

My #WCW today is the #1 WNBA draft, Caitlin Clark! Caitlin, considered one of the greatest collegiate players of all time, was drafted this week to the Indiana Fever - - wearing Prada no less! I love this girl! - after completing her college basketball career with the Iowa Hawkeyes. She is the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer and was a two-time national player of the year with the Hawkeyes. Not to mention, she made a killer cameo this past weekend on SNL, where she roasted Weekend Update host Michael Che, and rightly so, for his track record of punch-down jokes about the WNBA. She was hysterical and it was all in good fun! Caitlin's poise, sheer talent on the court, and big media attention give her the rare opportunity to draw new interest in the grave salary gaps between men and women in basketball. As the #1 pick, she is still not making over $100K, while her male counterparts are literally bringing in $10 million a year. WHAT!? Can't wait to watch this girl SOAR and change the game in many many ways. You go girl!
