Banana Bread In Air Fryer

There is that banana bread joke isn’t there? That you buy loads of bananas each week and that one week they are gone in a day, then the next week you have loads of brown bananas.

I often talk about using the old bananas to make my air fryer banana souffles but what I don’t talk about is my long term love for banana bread in the air fryer.

You can load the ingredients for your banana bread air fryer recipe into a blender, blend and then load into air fryer cake pans made of silicone.

Hardly any washing up and the banana bread keeps for a few days and is a great snack or breakfast alternative.

Today, I wanted to share with you my easy air fried banana bread recipe and you can see just how delicious it is.

Easy Air Fryer Banana Cake

Whilst you are thinking about rushing off to Amazon and buying mini loaf silicone containers, you don’t need to.

Instead of making a banana bread mini loaf what you can do instead is make a batch of banana bread batter, load it into your silicone round cake pan and bake it.

It then becomes our easy air fryer banana cake that once sliced up you have no idea it started off in a round dish.

For example, this is how our banana bread in cake pan looked when it came out of the air fryer:

And then this is how it looked once chopped up and spread with a little butter:

Plus, it follows a similar cooking method as our other silicone cake pan recipes such as our air fryer Christmas cake, or our air fryer carrot cake.

Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

I know many of us love our banana bread in the air fryer with some chocolate chips.

Well, as chocolate chips can be rather expensive and it was just after Easter when I originally took these photos, what I did was put some Cadburys Mini Eggs through the Thermomix and made them into tiny chocolate bits.

You can do the same or you can do this with another favourite chocolate.

Banana Bread Air Fryer Ingredients

Recipe This | Air Fryer Banana Bread (6)

Bananas – Of course you can’t have a banana bread air fryer recipe without bananas. I recommend some really soft bananas as they add more flavour to a banana bread.

Chocolate – In a banana bread air fryer recipe chocolate is of course optional, but who doesn’t love chocolate. Just a bag of your favourite chocolate or some chocolate chips will be perfect.

Butter – I recommend unsalted butter in this recipe and in most of my air fryer baking recipes. It makes such a difference to the flavour.

Sugar – Then for the delicious sweetness I recommend that you use brown sugar. Its not as strong and gives out a fantastic sweet flavour without being overpowering.

Flour – I recommend you use self raising flour for the best results or its self rising flour banana bread if you live in the US.

Yoghurt – For that creamy light texture you get on a banana bread air fryer recipe you will need some yoghurt. You can use Greek yoghurt or go with a natural yoghurt.

Egg – You will also need one large egg to bind the bread together.

I also recommend having some vanilla essence for that little extra flavour too, alongside ground ginger and mixed spice.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this banana bread air fryer recipe it has just been our Philips air fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.

Plus, we recommend you head over to our air fryer recipes category as we have more than 500 tried and tested air fryer recipes and have been air frying for 10 years.

  • Pour. Then load the banana bread batter into a silicone pan and stir in the crumbled chocolate.
  • Cook. Next load the silicone cake pan into the air fryer basket and air fry for 20 minutes at 160c/320f, followed by a further 5 minutes at 150c/300f to make sure the banana bread is fully cooked in the centre.
  • Serve. Then allow to cool, cut into slices and serve with some butter.

And I am sure you can see now how easy it is to make air fryer banana bread from old bananas and how you can do the same.

Thermomix Banana Bread

I love my different kitchen gadgets and will often pair them together to make recipes with. I used my Thermomix to mix the ingredients of the banana bread before using the air fryer to cook it in.

I appreciate the Thermomix is very expensive and you could use any blender or food processor for this or do it with your hands if you prefer.

How Long Do You Bake Banana Bread?

To air fry banana bread takes JUST 25 minutes in a standard basket style air fryer.
